Foreign press correspondents, artists and sportsmen and sportswomen in lucrative activities only need the latter’s authorisation.

    Requirements for obtaining a visa:

    • Visa application form.
    • Photocopy and original passport (valid for at least six months).
    • Two passport-size photos.
    • Criminal record certificate.
    • Original document of the work permit issued by the Administrative Service of Identification, Migration and Foreigners (SAIME) of Venezuela.
    • Evidence of employment from the company where you work.
    • Documentation proving the applicant’s employment status (diplomas, work experience, etc.).
    • A “Premium Certified Letter” envelope, on which the interested party must write his/her name, surname and address.
    • Additional documentation requested by the embassy to authorise the application.
    • Photocopy of the ticket or flight itinerary. We recommend that you meet the above requirements before purchasing a ticket.

    Once you have paid the fee, verified the requirements and accepted the application, you will be sent the visa for Venezuela by post via the registered letter that you had to fill in the requirements. The duration of this visa will depend on the individual’s situation.

    Business visa

    If you plan to engage in lucrative business activities in Venezuela, you need to apply for this visa. It is delivered to executives, traders and representatives of all types of companies. Let’s list the requirements you need:

    • Complete the visa application form.
    • Submit a photocopy and the original of your passport (valid for at least six months).
    • Two passport-size photographs.
    • If available, a criminal record certificate.
    • Signed and stamped letter from the company where you work, addressed to the Venezuelan consulate in your current country. The salary and position, as well as the name and address of the company, the contact person in Venezuela and the reason for the trip must be stated.
    • Letter from the company with which the lucrative activity will be carried out in Venezuela. The business to be done must be reported.
    • Letter from the relevant Chamber of Commerce.
    • The “Carta Certificada Premium”, where name, surname and address must be written.
    • Additional documentation requested by the embassy to enable them to authorise the application.
    • Photocopy of the flight ticket. It is advisable to meet the above requirements before purchasing a ticket.

    The duration of this visa to Venezuela will depend on the situation of each case.

    Student visa

    If you want to complete your higher technical or specialised university studies in Venezuela, you will need a student transit visa. In order to obtain it, the following requirements are necessary:

    • Fill in the visa application form.
    • Have an original passport and a photocopy (must be valid for six months).
    • Bring two passport photos.
    • If you have one, a criminal record certificate.
    • Photocopy and original of the application letter issued by the centre where you are going to study. In addition, if you are in receipt of a scholarship, you should indicate this. If this is not the case, bank documents must be submitted to prove the applicant’s financial solvency, both for the payment of tuition fees and living expenses.
    • Photocopy and original of the proof of acceptance to the study centre, proving admission to the study centre.
    • Send the “Carta Certificada Premium”, in which it is necessary to put name, surname and address.
    • Additional documentation necessary for the embassy to authorise the application.
    • Bring a photocopy of your ticket or flight itinerary.. We advise you to fulfil the above requirements before getting a ticket.

    The period of validity of this visa is one year.

    Tourist visa

    For travellers who want to visit Venezuela for sightseeing and tourism, they need to apply for this visa. To do so, you must meet the following requirements:

    • Fill in the visa application form.
    • Have a photocopy of your passport, together with the original (valid for at least six months).
    • Submit two passport-size photographs.
    • Criminal record certificate, if available.
    • Original and photocopy of the proof of financial solvency.
    • Original and photocopy of the employment contract. In addition, photocopies of the last three months’ pay slips must be submitted.
    • The “Carta Certificada Premium”, in which name, surname and address must be filled in.
    • Any other documentation required by the embassy in order to authorise the application.
    • Photocopy of the flight ticket. It is advisable to have fulfilled the above requirements before obtaining such a ticket.

    Once the fee has been paid and the requirements have been verified and the application has been accepted, the visa will be sent by post by registered letter as specified in the requirements. The period of validity of the visa to Venezuela is three months.
