International assignments

From a contractual perspective, expatriation can be structured as follows:

  • Local contracting at the destination: This alternative is usually accompanied by a suspension or termination of the employment relationship with the company of origin.
  • Letter of assignment or letter of posting: Maintaining the employment relationship with the company in the country of origin, in this option it is not necessary to hire the expatriate at the destination.
  • Double employment contract: In this option both labor relations will subsist at the same time, both in origin and in destination, it is common to use this route for immigration issues and the feasibility of obtaining work permits quickly.
